David Courtney Profile

David Courtney is an Internationally renowned record producer and composer who has worked with some of the legendary names in music. To his credit, Courtney has numerous entrees in various "Rock Music Encyclopedias".  Platinum, Gold and Silver Disc Awards representing the Millions of records sold worldwide. ASCAP (The American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers) awards and a GRAMMY NOMINATION. Courtney’s success has been truly international, having resided and worked in both the U.S.A. and Australia where he not only achieved great success, but also gained invaluable knowledge, experience and understanding for those markets on a first hand basis.

CORPORATE EXPERIENCE
In 1989 Courtney became C.E.O. of the Entertainment Division for one of the UK’s leading financial services companies. In this capacity he was responsible for the overall operation of the division, which included such activities as: Artist Management, Project Development and Entertainment Related Corporate Finance.

During his time with the company Courtney, was responsible for negotiating a Multi -Million Dollar deal between the representatives of the World Heavy Weight Boxing Champion LENNOX LEWIS and the American broadcast company HOME BOX OFFICE (HBO).

COMMISSIONS
In 1989 Courtney was commissioned by the prestigious SAVOY HOTEL LONDON to arrange and produce an album to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Hotel. The album has since been vested in the Savoy Orphians Archive.

In 1996 Courtney & Sayers international hit song ONE-MAN BAND was selected by the CAMELOT to be used for Nation-wide promotion for the NATIONAL LOTTERY.

TV PRODUCTION
AREA 51 SHOW 1998 - 1999: SERIES CREATOR & EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

In April 1998 Courtney joined forces with COMMUNICOPIA LTD who were the main programme production arm of CABLE & WIRELESS, the largest Cable Communications company in the UK, to produce a weekly 1 hour music show called AREA 51 which featured new recording artists from across the UK in a live performance environment, incorporating a Tele-Sales Mail Order facility on air and through the AREA 51 Internet Web Site. First Broadcast November 1998. The show was accessed through the Cable & Wireless Network across the UK and reached an audience of million viewers each week.

CASHBOX MAGAZINE
In 1994 Courtney was employed by leading US music trade journal Cashbox Magazine to head up their UK operation. In his capacity as UK Chief of Operations, Courtney was also responsible for the weekly UK chart returns, trade news and new product reviews.

BRIGHTON MARINA PUBLIC RELATIONS
In December 1999 Parkridge Developments Ltd (owners of the Brighton Marina) contracted Courtney to handle all PR and Event Management for the Marina complex.

THE WALK OF FAME (FOUNDER)
DAVID COURTNEY conceived and founded the WALK OF FAME cultural attractions the first of which has been established in the city of Brighton & Hove THE BRIGHTON WALK OF FAME pays tribute to numerous, famous and distinguished individuals past and present from across the spectrum, each of who have a close association with the city of Brighton & Hove, Among the names honoured include:
